Ollie’s Pretend Puppy
Ollie longs for a pet puppy of his own. But can he care for one? Perhaps, with a pretend puppy, he can show his parents that he can!
Andrea was born in Wales and did her teacher training in Weymouth, where she met her future husband. Now her children are grown up - and she is a happy grandmother to three amazing and clever kids.
Andrea was a teacher for many years and always interested in local politics - she was a Town Councilor for the Green Party for many years in Hamm with a great interest in integration and education.
Today she still works on the Committee for Special Needs and is Chair of the World of Reading - Lese Welt Hamm - bringing books and stories to children. The organisation has about 50 members, and reads stories at local schools, homes for senior citizens and in their library. They try to encourage young mothers to read bedtime stories, believing that a ten-minute story at bedtime is a good way to end the day, and children sleep sounder, too!
Andrea still organizes art and English projects at her old school - she has always enjoyed working with children from many different backgrounds. They paint and chat in English - an easy way to learn.
Andrea believes that children who enjoy stories and reading have a good start in life and learning!
